Two police officers and three civilians have sustained injuries of various degrees in a road accident involving a police cruiser that overturned at Chisi area, near Mdeka in Blantyre on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson for South-West region, Ramsy Mushani has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Mushani, the officers and the three others who are reported to be relations to some police officers were heading to Lilongwe from Luchenza area.
“The police will provide you with finer details once we get a comprehensive report of the accident,” said Mushani.
Reports indicate that driver of the police cruiser registration number MP 2672, Toyota land cruiser lost control as he was trying to avoid a head on collusion on the M1 stretch.
