Police are yet to arrest suspects who killed and burnt a suspected thief at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) on 15 April, 2022.

National Police Deputy Spokesperson, Harry Namwaza, says they are still investigating the matter.

On 15 April, 2022, Namwaza alleged in a statement that “some MUBAS students dragged the unknown suspect into their campus while heavily assaulting him over accusation that he wanted to pickpocket one of the students.”
