Death has been announced of Humphrey Gondwe, owner and sponsor of Northern Regional Womens Football League side CY Sisters FC.

Gondwe died on Wednesday at Mzuzu Central Hospital in Mzuzu after a long illness.

He was the husband to National Women’s Football Association Treasurer Clara Luhanga.

Gondwe and Clara established CY Sisters in 2009 and over the years, the team has won the Northern Regional Presidential Cup three times and Northern Region FAM Women’s League twice.

Burial of Gondwe is set for today at Thumbi in Rumphi.
