Court in Thyolo has sentenced a 37-year-old witch doctor, Emmanuel Koloti to 10 months imprisonment for having sex with a married woman.

State prosecutor, Ishmael Abubasit said in January, Koloti had sex with a married woman in the bathroom as as a ritual for the concortion so that her husband should be loving her.

Abubasit asked court to give stiffer punishment to Koloti because rape cases are rising and that he threatened to deal with woman if she reports the matter.

During sentencing, magistrate Kondwani Chinangwa punished Koloti with 10 months. She said it a warning to other witchdoctors with the same behaviour.

Koloti hails from Malambwana village, Traditional Authority Chikumbu in Mulanje.
