Police in Blantyre have confirmed that a 16 year old Hip-hop artist Peace Dickson took his own life by hanging after he was criticized for alleged stealing behavior by his aunt.

According to Aubrey Singanyama, Blantyre Police publicist, on April 24 around 10:00 Dickson was scolded by his aunt whom he was staying with for alleged his stealing behavior who then warned him that he will report him to police if he continues.

This did not go well with Dickson who went into his room and hanged himself with a belt.

The matter was reported to Manase Police Unit in which officers rushed to scene and took Dickson to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The dead body is still at QECH Mortuary pending postmortem.

Dickson hailed from Njobvu village in Traditional Authority Changata in Thyolo District.
