Mob Kills Man For Stealing Goats In Balaka

A 42 year old man Jimmy Line Dauda has been killed by an angry mob for allegedly stealing goats in Balaka.

Balaka police publicist Chisomo Kanyimbi confirmed the incident while adding that the deceased was a habitual riminal and was caught on the night of 24th April whilst in an act of stealing goats near Njerenje Railway Station.

Kanyimbi  said Fraser Welemu who is son in law to the owner of the goats  Grace Kamole had sensed some strange moves  during that night and after waking up he saw the thief in the act.

After  shouting  for help,  some  villagers  came and  they managed to apprehend Dauda.

He was subsequently beaten  unconscious.

Police rushed to the scene to  rescue the suspect but it was too late.

Postmortem was conducted at Phimbi Health Centre which  indicated that his death is due to internal bleeding.

Jimmy Dauda hailed from Njerenje village, Traditional Authority Mkaya in Balaka District.
