CCAP GS Billy Gama Smells Something Fishy In Chizuma’s Interrogation

As pressure is still mounting on the Malawi Police Service (MPS) over their planned interrogation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma, General Secretary for Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP) Blantyre Synod Billy Gama suspects that there is something fishy.

Yesterday, Deputy National Police Spokesperson Harry Namwaza released a statement informing the general public that they will summon Chizuma today at the National Police Headquarters as ordered by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Steve Kayuni, before postponing the scheduled interview to a later date.

In his own remarks, Gama it is not clear on why would other government agencies could pursue a matter which was already dealt with by the president himself.

According to Gama one of the people involved in Chizuma saga is lying to Malawians.

“It’s either some people are sabotaging the president or the president was lying when he forgave Chizuma over the leaked audio. The president has to act.” Said the CCAP clergyman.

Namwaza has since communicated that on Monday, the police will hold a press briefing to explain the details behind Chizuma’s interrogation.
