Police officers asked to increase visibility

Northern Region Acting Police Commissioner Mabvuto M’bobo has urged law enforcers in the region to increase their visibility in crime-prone areas.

He said this when he addressed middle and senior managers and officers-in-charge of police units under the Mzuzu Police Station on Friday.

M’bobo advised the officers to enhance supervision of their subordinates to ensure effective police patrols.

“I would like to see visibility of our officers in all corners of the commercial business district that are in Mzuzu City and major trading centres such as Ekwendeni, among other places,” he said.

M’bobo also encouraged the officers to always be presentable and exemplary in time management when deployed to lead in various tasks.

He further advised the police officers to respond to emergencies using a rapid-response facility.

In his remarks, Mzuzu Police Station officer-in-charge Frederick Chande commended M’bobo for reorienting the officers on their daily duties and conduct.

He pledged to use the knowledge gained from the talk to improve the security situation in the city.
