Prophetess Mary Bushiri of Enlighten Christian Gathering (ECG) church has handed over a borehole to over 92 households in Mwendetsa Village, Traditional Authorith Kabudula in Lilongwe.

Speaking after the donation Prophetess Bushiri stressed that everyone has the right to clean and safe water in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On his part, Group Village Headman Mwendetsa said the borehole would end problems women have been facing due to scarcity of a water source; forcing them to travel long distances to access safe and clean water.

The chief further appealed for a school in the area to address the high school dropout rate; saying learners travel 8 kilometers to access free education.

Mary Bushiri also donated various assorted items such as food items and clothing to over 100 families.
