39 newly recruited police officers expelled at Mtakataka Police Training School

At least 39 young men and women have been sent back from Mtakataka Police Training School in Dedza after it was established that they were not on the list of those to attend training for new recruits.

National Police Deputy Spokesperson Harry Namwaza has confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local daily papers.

Namwaza told the press that those sent back did not have invitation letters.

He added that four among those turned back did not have the required minimum qualification of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

Said Namwaza: “They were sent back from Mtakataka Police Training School not because their names were missing but they were not on the list of those that were supposed to report for training.”
