29 year old Malawian man has been killed in Balaka by an angry mob on suspicious that he attempted to steal four chickens amounting to K20, 000.

Balaka Police spokesperson Chisomo Kanyimbi confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as Stephano Labson.

According to Kanyimbi, Labson was beaten badly after he was caught inside a chicken kraal the time he was taken to the police station he was already in bad state.

The police later took him to the hospital, where he was discharged only to faint again the moment he returned in custody prompting the police to take him back t the Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to medical reports, Labson died because he lost a lot of blood.

Labson hailed from Kanyimbo village Traditional Authority Njolomole in Ntcheu district.
