Road accident has claimed two lives in Zomba district which occurred on Saturday afternoon along Jali road.

The two are a 40 year old man and 36 year old woman.

According to reports, the two were having a conversation near Chibuku bar along the road when they met their fate.

Reports indicate that the driver of the car was drunk resulting in driving recklessly.

The woman died on the spot after suffering head and hand injuries while the man was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital.

Meanwhile the two have been laid to rest and the driver is in police custody to answer charges of causing death due to reckless driving.
