Information reaching our desk indicated that The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) charged GALITOs at Game Complex in Lilongwe K13.9 Million, for allegedly purchasing pre-paid electricity units illegally.

ESCOM’s Publicist Innocent Chitosi has confirmed of the development following an exercise that was conducted by the power supplier’s inspection team.

There was no immediate comment from GALITOs on the issue.

The news comes just days after ESCOM threatened to close Kips restaurant in Blantyre for buying electricity from ESCOM employees.
