Malawian Man Tied To A Tree For Not Attending Funeral Ceremony, Opens His Grocery Instead

A man in Chiradzulu was tied to a tree for plying his daily business while the village was mourning.

According to reports, the man whose particulars are not known to this publication, is said to have opened his grocery and carried his daily hustle despite the fact that a person had died in the village.

The development did not please chiefs and others in authority who later ordered young men to get hold of him and tie him to a tree at the graveyard.

This comes bare few days after a similar incident happened in Mchinji whereby a man was also tied to a tree for allegedly causing havoc during funeral ceremony.

The man, Justin Richard, received a similar treatment wen it was discovered that his uncalled behaviour was influenced b alcohol he had before showing up to the funeral.

However, the police has condemned such punishments.
