One person has died after being involved in a road accident on 7 March 2022 at a place called Allumenda along M1 road in Chikwawa.

Chikwawa Police Public Relations Officer Dickson Matemba has confirmed the development to FaceofMawi.

The accident involved a Minibus Toyota Hiace registration number NE 5657 which was being driven by Tito Fumbwezi 25, of Nyanga Village Traditional Authority Mbenje in Nsanje District.

According to Matemba, the victim was rushed to Ngabu Rural Hospital where she died whilst receiving treatment and postmortem revealed that she died due to multiple serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Minibus has been arrested and will face the charge of causing death by reckless driving.
