Three People Die After Being Hit By Motor Vehicle In Dedza

Police in Dedza have confirmed the death of three people who died after being hit by a motor vehicle at Mganja Village near Golomoti Trading Centre.

Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Beatrice Jefita, has identified the three as Yasinta Aliseniyo, 24, Leniya Martin, 5, and Yasinta Nkhuma, 52.

Jefita said  the three were hit alongside two others who have sustained minor injuries apparently after the driver lost control of the vehicle, a passenger minibus.

“Three females sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at Mganja Health Centre while the other two pedestrians sustained minor injuries and were taken to Dedza District Hospital where they have been admitted to,” Jefita said.

The police apprehended the driver Flackson Lumbe aged 41.

Lumbe hails from Ching’amba Village, Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu District.
