The Tonse administration is planning to construct an international airport in honour of one of the country’s fallen heroes Orton Chirwa.
President Lazarus Chakwera revealed this during the commemoration of this year’s Martyrs Day in Nkhatabay district, yesterday.
According to Chakwera, fallen heroes including Chirwa made significant contributions towards Malawi quest for freedom, hence the need to honor them with infrastructure.
He stressed that such sons and daughters of Malawi, deserve recognition as they are an important generation in the country’s history.
