Protesters attack Game Complex gate, police fires teargas

Armed police officers have fired teargas at violent protesters who were planning to loot Game complex in the capital Lilongwe after dismantling the exit steel gate.

Eyewitnesses have told the press that the gate was initially closed to keep away protesters from entering the premises.

Police had to fire teargas to disperse the unruly crowd and keep them from flocking into the complex.

The protesters who are being led by a grouping called Citizen Movement Against Impunity and Corruption want Ashok Nair to withdraw his lawsuit against Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.
