Pro-Chizuma demonstrations underway in Lilongwe

The Demonstrators against corruption have now started off from Lilongwe Community Centre ground on their way to the DCs office where they are to present a petition.

The protests started marching from Lilongwe Community Centre ground, via Bwalo la Njovu through Old Town Hall, Via Kamuzu Procession Road, to Lilongwe District Council.

The protesters led by Joshua Chisa Mbele want Ashok Nair to withdraw his lawsuit against Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.

Business has come to a standstill in the town of Lilongwe as demonstrators have been given access to a route that goes through the business area.

All major shops have been closed as owners are unsure about the safety and security of their businesses.
