Citizens Against Impunity and Corruption Says Malawi Has become A Den of Mafias

Citizens Against Impunity and Corruption (CAIC) has said today will be the beginning of Mass Demonstrations to force Tonse Alliance Administration to be serious with the fight against graft.

According to a statement seen by this publication, CAIC claims that Malawi has become a den of mafias helped by corrupt civil servants and greedy politicians.

The statement continued that Malawi has become a country where corrupt business people are running public institutions in the course draining public resources.

“Bribes, money laundering, fraud have become a way of life with own ministry st Capital Hill and annual budget allocated. More than 50% of Malawi Budget is looted,” read part of the statement.

The sole reason of today’s demonstrations against Lilongwe City Council (LCC) Chief Executive Officer Lawford Palani is to “tell his office to stop colluding and collaborating with those people who don’t have the interests of Malawians at heart.”

“The Lilongwe DC undermined people’s Right to Demonstrate by taking a unilateral decision to cancel the Demonstrations that were mutually agreed upon,” read part of the statement.

The citizens stressed that time has come to reclaim the soul of our beautiful country by denouncing corrupt Civil Servants. Corrupt Politicians. Corrupt private & public institutions.
