CHILAPONDWA—The digitised system will help cut on time lost
The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) Thursday unveiled an automated internal system for processing applications for PPDA certificates.
The PPDA Certificate helps businesses when bidding for government contracts in ministries, departments and agencies.
PPDA Director General Eddington Chilapondwa told journalists in Lilongwe that automation is part of PPDAs efforts to fully digitise the system for procurement and disposal of public assets to enhance service delivery in line with government’s Public Sector Reform Agenda for modern, professional, efficient and effective public service.
He said, through the digitised system, a PPDA Certificate would be issued in maximum of five days down from a number of months.
Chilapondwa said the digitised system would offer many benefits to applicants, including timely review of the applications and convenience in accessing information on the status of their applications.
“The digitised system would help service users cut on time lost as businesses will not have to wait for long before they get their PPDA Certificate.
“In addition, after the approval of the certificate by the PPDA Director General, the licences would be sent via email to businesses wherever they are; meaning there will be no need to travel to Lilongwe to collect the certificate,” Chilapondwa said.
