Nine people have sustained injuries after being attacked by a hyena at Chamangwana village in Traditional Authority Chilikumwendo in Dedza district.

District Health Office Spokesperson Mwai Liabunya said of those attacked, two are women while seven are men.

Liabunya said three are in critical condition and are being treated at the district hospital.

Meanwhile, the police have killed the hyena.
