Local foreign affairs authorities have managed to identify at least 7 Malawians that in the midst of evacuation processes from Ukraine.

The development comes at a time various countries are processing evacuation of their citizens that are in Ukraine and Russia.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has disclosed that the 7 that have been in touch with the Malawi Mission in Berlin, are at various stages of leaving Ukraine.

However other 30 Malawians have reached the Malawi Mission in Berlin, expressing interest that they may require help to leave Russia, in case the conflict escalates.

Meanwhile, all Malawian citizens in the two conflicting countries have been advised to strictly follow guidance from their government and get any movements outside Malawi government guidance cleared by the authorities.

Foreign Affairs authorities have since given contact details that should help other Malawians who may need assistance.
