Police in Mzuzu have arrested seven people who are suspected to have been stealing from lodges across the city.
Mzuzu Police Station Assistant Publicist, Rose Chipyola says they have also recovered items worth over K12 million from the suspects.
“Some of the items recovered include laptops, plasma screens, motorcycles, fridges, beddings, soap, plates, tissue and bathing towels,” Chipyola says.
It is reported that the suspects have been residing in other districts in the central and southern regions.
Chipyola has since assured city residents that they are working tirelessly to provide security as well as arrest those going against the law.
This comes weeks after Mzuzu Police arrested other robbers who were convicted of stealing from high profile people and foreign nationals within the city.
