6 Nabbed For Series Of Robberies In Balaka

Police in Balaka district have arrested six people for allegedly being behind a series of robberies.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Balaka Police Station Gladson M’bumpha has confirmed the development and said  that the six were arrested during an intelligence driven raid and ambush operation between the night of December 19-20, 2023 following complaints received to police from different people within Balaka Township and surrounding areas.
M’bumpha has identified the suspects as Mike Wilson, Justin Dickson, Juma Kadondolo, Muhammad Jafali, Gift M’boma, Blessings Chiwaya.
Police have also recovered various stolen items which include four plasma screens, kitchen utensils, three sets of home theatres, two blankets, four mattresses, two electric fans, a bag containing assorted clothes and one electric kettle.
Three suspects whose names are Mike Wilson, Justin Dickson and Juma Kadondolo have been charged with burglary and theft while the other trio namely Muhammad Jafali, Gift M’boma and Blessings Chiwaya, will answer charges of receiving properties suspected to have been stolen.
The six will soon appear before court to  answer charges levelled against them.
Mike Wilson is 27 years old  hails from  Mgomba village, Justin Dickson is 27 from Busili village, Juma Kadondolo, 29, Kampeni village, both from Traditional Authority Nsanama in Machinga District, Muhammad Jafali, 29, Tumbwe village, Gift M’boma, 27, Tumbwe village, Traditional Authority Kachenga in Balaka and Blessings Chiwaya, 19, of Majiga 2 Village in Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka District.
