Tragedy has struck the Kabanana Compound in Choma, as a 57-year-old man named Davis Mulenga was found hanging from a tree within his yard on Monday morning.

The news was confirmed by the Southern Province Commanding Police Officer, Paul Achiume, who spoke to Byta FM News about the incident.

According to the report, Mulenga had left his home for his daily business routine at around 04:30 hours on the day of the incident.

However, when his two grandchildren were leaving for school at around 07:30 hours, they discovered his body hanging from a tree and promptly informed their grandmother.

The police were called to the scene and the body was taken to the Choma General Hospital for further investigation.

The reasons behind Mulenga’s suicide are currently unknown and the police are investigating the matter.
