4BILLION KWACHA NOT ENOUGH TO REVAMP ADMARC

The Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation, ADMARC has described the 4 billion kwacha allocated in the national budget as too minimal to renovate the institution.

This comes following the presentation of 2023/2024 national budget by Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe that ADMARC has been allocated 4billion Kwacha the amount amidst its controversial closure last year.

According to Chrissy Nyirenda, Head of Finance for ADMARC said government should consider increasing the funds budgeted in order to improve the current status of the institution

Nyirenda also added that the allocated amount will not help them address key challenges affecting smooth run of their services.

Commenting on the matter, Sameer Suleman Chairperson for Agriculture committee of Parliament says government should come up with good strategic planning on rebuilding ADMARC to its full capacity.
