A 48-year-old man has been apprehended by the police in Mchinji on suspicion of killing two individuals and stealing their motorbike. The incident took place last week at Lameki village, within Traditional Authority Mkanda in the district.

According to Limbani Mpinganjira, the Mchinji police publicist, the victims, Mattias Mwale (27) and Mphatso Nyowani Banda (31), were found dead with their motorbike missing during the night of Tuesday last week. They had reportedly gone to purchase farm produce in the area.

Following an investigation into the matter, it was revealed that the person who purchased the stolen motorbike had obtained it from the arrested suspect. Efforts are currently underway to locate two other suspects, known as Saukirani and Precious, who are believed to be connected to the case.
