26 Primary Schools, Secondary Schools Damaged By Heavy Rains In Mangochi

Since the onset of heavy rains in Mangochi, at least 26 primary schools and two Community Day Secondary Schools have been damaged.

According to Mangochi District Commissioner, Dr. Raphael Piringu, most of the schools had their roofs blown off during Tropical Cyclone Ana and the learners are only attending classes when it is not raining.

Piringu said hundreds of people are also in camps after their houses collapsed, citing Malombe area as most the devastated as it cannot be accessed by land as the roads have completely been damaged.
