2 arrested over theft, motorcycle recovered in Lilongwe

Lilongwe Police has on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Kaphiri Trading Centre arrested two men for being found in possession of a brand new motorcycle suspected to have been stolen.

The suspects have been identified as Tobias Enock, 31, and Feston Mwaumba, 22.

The station’s detectives who were doing routine patrols on the said day at around 16:00 hours, became suspicious after coming across the two men who were in possession of the motorcycle.

When the detectives grilled the suspects, they failed to give a proper account of the same prompting their immediate arrest, and seizure of the motorcycle.

Meanwhile, police preliminary inquiries have established that the suspects stole the motorcycle at Chimbiya Trading Centre in Dedza.

Arrangements are underway to take them to the district where they committed the offence to face a charge of theft, in court.

Tobias Enock comes from Mpeka Village, whilst Feston Mwaumba hails from Jekapu Village, both in Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza District.
