2 Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Medical Drugs, Operating Clinic Without Licence In Zomba

Two men have been arrested in Zomba for allegedly possessing medical drugs and operating a mobile clinic without a licence.

The suspects have been identified as Petro Chalero, 50, from Chikwakwa village, T/A Ngwelero in Zomba and Landani Mamono, 21, from Kunselema village, T/A Nkanda in Mulanje district.

Eastern Region Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Tionge Kayenda said the two were arrested on Monday this week at Sunuzi Trading Centre in Zomba following a tip off from the public.

The suspects will be taken to court to answer charges of operating mobile clinic and found in possession of medical drugs without licence.

Kayenda has since appealed to the public to refrain from buying medical drugs from unlicensed traders.
