Government has reinstated 18 riotous University of Zambia (UNZA) students that were expelled and suspended respectively.

Education Minister Douglas Syakalima announced this during a media briefing held this morning.

According to Stakalima, the decision was arrived at following a plea by parents of the students, who are remorseful for the recent destructive riot at the Great East Campus.

The incident occurred when management decided to cancel the students’ union elections, hence flaring tempers in which rioters looted and damaged property-DTV.
