A candidate from Kipcherere Primary School in Baringo North sat her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations at Baringo Referral Hospital after giving birth.
The 14-year-old girl, who delivered a bouncing baby boy on Tuesday, was in high spirits as she wrote her final paper in the hospital’s maternity wing.
Paul Kandie, the hospital’s nurse-in-charge, said the patient and the baby are in stable condition and that the girl will be discharged after finishing her papers.
While monitoring the distribution of examination in Kabarnet container in Baringo Central sub-county, Education Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Sarah Ruto said teenage pregnancies among candidates dropped this year.
On insecurity which affected two schools in Baringo South, the CAS said no candidate missed to write their papers, assuring that the government will put more effort to ensure secondary exam flows smoothly especially in porous regions.
