14 Signs That Show You Don’t Drink Enough Water

Lack of enough water occurs when you don’t drink enough fluid or water. Water is necessary for boosting digestion and your overall health. Hence, lack of enough water in your body results in health problems or makes certain symptoms show up.

Some of the signs of dehydration are:

1. According to MedicineNet, feeling thirsty is mostly seen to be an early warning sign that you are getting dehydrated. When you feel thirsty, however, it is an indication that dehydration has already started.

Other warning signs of lack of enough water in the body include:

2. Dry mouth

When your body is dehydrated, your salivary glands can’t make saliva. Your mouth might feel dry or sticky. You may experience trouble talking or swallowing, your throat gets sore, or your sense of taste gets changed. A dry mouth can also cause bad breath because you don’t have enough saliva to wash away bacteria.

3. Infrequent urination

Your body loses water when you pee. If you don’t have enough water in your system, you’ll pass out less urine. Your pee will also be darker. The colour can provide hints as to your level of dehydration. A pale, straw-yellow colour indicates that you’re drinking enough. Darker yellow shades, however, inform you that you are dehydrated. If you’re not peeing at all, you should get medical care as soon as possible.

4. Dry skin

Dehydration can affect your skin. If your skin doesn’t bounce back rapidly when you pinch it, that could be an indication that you require to consume more fluids.

5. Fatigue

Water moves important nutrients throughout your body and takes them to where they need to be. When you lack enough water in your body, it has to function harder, which can leave you feeling tired and sluggish.

6. Headaches

A small amount of water intake can lead to serious headaches. If your head feels pain, it could mean you lack sufficient water in your body.

In cases of chronic dehydration, symptoms that might show up include:

7. Confusion.

8. Dizziness.

9. Fainting.

10. Rapid heartbeat/breathing.

11. Very dark urine.

12. Skin that doesn’t bounce back after it is pinched.

13. Fever/chills.

14. Feeling unconscious.

If you experience any of these signs, you should try to get medical care immediately.
