Dowa Police authorities have taken into custody 11 individuals on charges of allegedly acquiring fuel through unauthorized means using jerrycans.

Police Spokesperson Alice Sitima confirmed the arrests, noting that the suspects were apprehended during a targeted operation conducted at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp this past Saturday.

She added that they they have also confiscated about 70 litres of fuel and 30 empty jerrycans.

The suspects will appear before court soon.
